AFA09 2nd Press Con
I am now officially sold. Miku in Anisong09.
Holy. Shit.
Dentsu Singapore released more details on both Animation Asia Conference 2009 and Anime Festival Asia 2009. For AAC09, to cut short, will feature these speakers:
- Tsuguhiko Kadokawa – Chairman and CEO of Kadokawa Group Holdings
- Mamoru Hosada – Director of “Summer Wars” and more famously, “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”
- Shiro Sasaki – CEO of Flying Dog Inc.
- Kotaro Sugiyama – Senior VP of Dentsu Inc.
- Danny Choo – blogger and CEO of Mirai Inc.
- Edmund Shern – CEO and founder of Storm Lion Pte Ltd
The price of entry is S$480 per adult. Budding artists and students take note, Dentsu Singapore is also currently working with MICA to grant subsidies to students wishing to attend this conference. This will be a great opportunity to learn from the big players the nature of the current industry, and experience it first hand.

Now on the AFA side of things, a few new stuff have been announced and, it looks set to be very interesting and exciting. First up, Dentsu will be inviting seiyus of K-ON! to AFA09 to give “live” dubbing to scenes in the animation, and also Q&A sessions with the seiyus. This will be the first time the seiyu cast will be performing live outside of Japan. In fact if i am not wrong. This will be the first time a japanese seiyu will perform in Singapore in a event such as AFA.
For the cosplayers, due to strong response, the Regional Cosplay Championship 2009 registration has been extended to 12th Oct 2009, 12pm GMT+9.
Finally, for the Hatsune Miku lovers (including me). Dentsu has managed to get Hatsune Miku to perform her first ever overseas “Live” performance on I Love Anisong 2009. The performance will be different from the one during Animelo Summer Live 2009. Dentsu has indicated that the performance for Anisong will be uniquely Singapore. Whatever that means, i am sure all the Hatsune Miku fans here will be foaming at their mouths now.

Last thing to note is the pricing of the tickets for the event and the concert. Pricing for AFA09 itself will be:
S$15(S$12) for one day entry
S$25(S$20) for 2 day entry

Pricing for the concert will be:
S$109 for 1 day concert attendence
S$188 for both days
you will be able to get into the special VIP area for the i Love Anisong concert. The concert area has been improved from last year’s, Dentsu promised better sound experience, location and spacing.
Tickets for the concert can be bought at Sistic outlets. The sale of the tickets will be open on the 26th October for the 1 day tickets, and 19th October for the 2 day tickets.
Edit: the concert tickets will also cover the entry fee, so if you purchase the concert tickets, there is no need to pay for the entry fee.
